Hungarian Night

February 23 | 8:00 pm

Hungarian artists shall take over the stage of the Coca-Cola Arena on Thursday 23rd February as the InClassica International Music Festival welcomes the Savaria Symphony Orchestra for the final concert of their stay at the festival. For this special occasion, they will be led by one of their own compatriots, Hungarian conductor Gergely Madaras, who currently serves as the Music Director of Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège after having held the position of Chief Conductor of the Savaria Symphony Orchestra for six years. Joining them will be another legendary musician from their home nation – Roby Lakatos, a virtuoso violinist who is the latest in a long line of famous Romani musicians descended from the great János Bihari himself. Celebrated for his ability to combine diverse styles and techniques gleaned from classical, jazz and folk music, the multiple-award winning musician, who was recently honoured by being appointed as the Artist Ambassador of the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation, is especially renowned for his inimitable live performances, with his idiosyncratic approach guaranteed to leave audiences with cherished memories for years to come.
